If you’re exploring how AI can take a real part in your work, I’d love to hear from you. ## [Silan Hu](https://silan.tech/) First-year PhD student in Computer Science at NUS. My research focuses on data systems, runtimes, and AI systems. ## A note to everyone trying EasyNet Hi, I’m Silan. I was born in 2001, and I’m currently a first-year PhD student in Computer Science at NUS. I’m also building the EasyNet ecosystem on my own. The most direct answer to why I do this is simple: I want to make an impact on the world. I want to know whether my being here—learning these things and putting real work into them—can make something possible that wasn’t possible before. To me, research and creation ask the same question: where is the limit of what we can do today, and can I push it a little further? AI has made that possibility feel closer than ever. From building Agent applications to studying memory, multi-agent collaboration, and now Agent networks, I’ve become convinced that Agents will be deeply involved in—and may come to lead—economic activity, production, and everyday life. The software, organizations, services, and ways of working together that we take for granted all deserve another look. Much of what seems settled can still be reinvented. When I see those possibilities, I find it hard to leave them as ideas. I want to write the code, get it running, and find out how far it can go. An idea that existed only in my head starts working; someone else uses it to solve a problem of their own. Those are the moments that give this work its meaning for me. They make knowledge feel like something that can enter the world and change it. But the further I go, the more I realize that we are unleashing a force we do not yet fully understand. As AI begins to remember, judge, collaborate, and act, where will the boundary between AI and people lie? Which uncertainties can we understand and control, and which will become costs that real people bear? With greater power to create, what kind of life will we choose to build? I don’t want to leave all of those questions to the future. The systems we write today, the designs we choose, and the things we allow by default are already shaping it. To me, steering technology toward good has to happen through those concrete choices. As capabilities expand, I want human understanding, choice, and dignity to receive the same care. So I research, and I build. I wrestle with confusion, look for boundaries, turn the unclear into the clear, and try to create new systems that solve real problems. I believe Computer Science should make things easy and beautiful—tiny but efficient. The greater the possibility, the more it deserves to become something ordinary people can actually use. EasyNet carries that hope. I want to see what we can create together when capabilities across the world can connect, and what one person has learned can become another person’s starting point. It is still early. There is much more to write, rethink, and understand. But this is where I want to put my time. I want to meet this era head-on, as one of the people building it. If you’ve felt that excitement at seeing what might be possible, and there is something you deeply want to bring into the world, I’d love to meet you. AI Natives!
